Lord, as we enter this beautiful new year that You have created for us, we want to thank You for how much You have blessed us in so many ways — more than we could count, more than we even know about. Your goodness and faithfulness are overflowing in our lives every day and we are grateful.
Lord, we ask that You stir in us an awareness of Your blessings as we begin our new year with You. We thank You for the blessing of Your presence with us. We long to spend more time focusing on You. We long to be still and know that You are God. Your presence is life and peace to us.
We thank You for the blessing of our family. Sometimes family relationships are not easy. But we thank You because You bless those relationships You have given us. Help us to feel Your presence in the midst of our family in all seasons of life.
Even for those family members we have lost, we thank You for the blessing of all the times we had together. Help us recognize those blessings and realize You are the source of all goodness in our life. Some folks in our family may be gone from us, but You are here. Where we feel empty in our heart because of loss, fill us up with Your love.
Lord, we thank You for the blessing of our friends. Friends are one of the greatest gifts You have blessed us with. Help us to be fully present with our friends through good times and bad. We treasure our time spent with our friends that You have blessed us with. We thank You, Lord, that You are also our friend, the best friend we could ever have. Remind us daily to spend friend time with You.
God, we thank You for blessing us with provision for all we need — food, shelter, health, and whatever else we may need. We know You are aware of our every need and are always providing for us. Forgive us for being doubtful or impatient when we feel like our needs are not being met. Open our eyes and our heart to see all the ways You are providing for us and that You never let us go without Your provision. What a blessing, God.
We thank You also for the incredible blessing of Jesus, our savior and the Lord of our life. Help us to keep our daily life aligned with Him. Thank You for the promise of our eternal life through Him. That’s the greatest blessing of all, God — to be able to live with You forever. Help us to point people toward Jesus, people who may not yet know of the blessings You have given us in Him. We desire to show people Jesus is alive, through the way we live, talk, and act, and through our prayers.
Lord, thank You for the blessing of this beautiful new year. Help us to live each day of this year in total amazement and awe of the blessings You give us and the blessings that You are to us. We want to bless You with our life, our thoughts, and our heart.
We love You, God.
